Scarlett Johansson says some celebrities are using charity campaigns primarily to boost their careers

“Somebody gave me a great phrase yesterday - ‘idiot wind’. It’s what comes out of your mouth. “I think certain people are guilty of it by supporting something when they haven’t done the proper research,” Contactmusic quoted her as saying.
“You’re always going to have people who hop on the bandwagon when something is hip,” she added.
Scarlett Johansson makes a valid point - that its important to know what you’re supporting and the money you donate is going to good use.
In saying that the idea of charity needs more promotion in general. These comments are a little harsh if true.
Johansson herself is fronting global Aids campaign Red to raise money for women and children in Africa, and she insists that her support to the movement has “nothing to do with (her) career”.
