The Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy Foundation

Oprah was in South Africa unveiling The Oprah Winfrey Leadership For Girls Academy.
Oprah apparently almost gave up on her school for girls when there seemed to be a lack of interest in South Africa to get the school up and running.
She’s also faces criticism at home for not building the school in the U.S. Oprah already donates millions of dollars to American kids through the Oprah Winfrey Scholars program.
She is taking a keen personal hands on interest to make sure the $40,000,000 is well spent even going so far as hand picking all of the first students.
Oprah says: “Obviously I have a lot of money but there are a lot of other people who have a lot more money than I do. If one person can do this, imagine what institutions, other people who have great, great enormous resources can do?”
