The annual Tribeca Film Festival on Wheels

The Tribeca Film Festival will partner again this year with the Lollipop Theater Network (LOLLIPOP) to present the 2007 annual Tribeca Film Festival on Wheels.
This event on the Tribeca Film Festival calendar is a travelling screen show presenting selections from the 2007 Family Film Festival to paediatric patients confined to hospitals.
The cast and crew from the movies will also attend screenings and afterwards, participate in Q&A sessions.
The Tribeca Film Festival itself was created in 2002 by Robert De Niro, Jane Rosenthal and Craig Hatkoff in response to the 9/11 World Trade Centre catastrophe, with the ambition of revitalising and celebrating Lower Manhattan’s music and film culture, and promoting New York City as a major surviving filmmaking centre. The festival concentrates on reaching the broadest audience possible.
The family focus of the festival, as well as having the main film shorts and feature showings, has a street fair, an artist-studio visitors program, and a collective screening of films made by elementary and middle school protégés.
The Tribeca Film Festival on Wheels, bringing films and film culture to patients facing chronic and terminal illness, is made possible by the Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital of New York-Presbyterian and could not happen without the initiative of the Lollipop Theater Network (LOLLIPOP), an inspiration of Janis Schodowski.
