JK Rowling, author of the famous Harry Potter franchise, tycoon Sir Richard Branson and American Idol judge Simon Cowell are the latest media figures to donate money to the ‘Find Maddie’ campaign.
The campaign was made public by football star David Beckham who, earlier this week, pledged a reward for information about the whereabouts of Madeleine McCann, a missing 4-year-old-girl who disappeared on May 2.
Her parents, Gerry and Kate, had unknowingly left her, her younger brother and sister alone in a hotel room while they went to dine at an in-house hotel restaurant.
The latest news on the case is that Portuguese police are searching a home close to the Praia da Luz, the hotel from where Maddie went missing. The home being searched is occupied by a British woman and her adult son.
Gerry and Kate McCann remain hopeful in their devastation, and reassure themselves that they will find their daughter.
This is a terrible tragedy that befalls society much too often.
JK Rowling, Sir Richard Branson and Simon Cowell’s very charitable donations to the ‘Find Maddie’ campaign now push the reward total over the $9 million mark.
