F1 drivers play Star Team for Children charity soccer match

Over 50 sports greats put their hands up to play in the annual charity soccer match this week when F1 drivers swapped steering wheels for soccer balls to rival the Star Team for Children.
Invited by HSH Prince Albert II himself, players were asked to participate in the match held as part of the Monaco Grand Prix Week celebrations, and celebrity sportsman turned up in drones.
Held at Stade Lucien Rheim in Menton, France, to an audience of so few, it’s hardly worth mentioning, Prince Albert captained the Star Team for Children, to a loss against, who else but Formula 1 superstar driver, Michael Schumacher’s F1 team.
But even though the Star Team for Children didn’t come out the victors, losing 2-nil to the F1 side, whose goals were kicked by Renault test driver Fernando Alonso and Italian driver Giancarlo Fisichella, after an $85,000 pre-game donation by two-time CART champion Alex Zarnadi of the Alex Zarnadi Foundation, nobody really lost.
The annual F1 Monaco Grand Prix charity soccer match was played for AMADE (Association Mondiale des Amis de l’Enfance), a not- for-profit child-advocacy charity, founded by HRH Princess Grace, now under the direction of HSH Prince Albert II.
