Six people died in a charity event tragedy, originally held to benefit Cars For Kids.
Texas based Brisbane born drag-car racer, Troy Warren Critchley, crashed into a crowd of spectators at the Cars For Kids drag racing charity event in Tennessee, killing six people.
The Pro Mod driver Critchley, who has raced in the US since 1998, suffered minor injuries, and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
He was not charged by police, over the incident.
18 other people were injured in the horrific crash, including a 5-year-old boy who was also taken to hospital for treatment.
A make-shift memorial has been set up, with grievers placing candles, flowers, crosses and memorial gifts at the sight, mourning victims of the accident.
The charity organization Cars For Kids, run to aid in the education and support of youth at risk, is at a loss to comprehend the unforeseen tragedy, commenting that they will ‘carry the scars of each loss forever’.
