The business casual event is a chance for fans to meet and mingle on field with the new line up of players, chat to San Diego Charger personalities and experience highlights from past winning seasons.

Australia Zoo is hosting Beerwah’s Great Garage Sale and, never doing things by halves, they’re hoping to make it the worlds biggest.
Bargain hunters will have a huge range of stalls to rummage through, finding all kinds of bits and bobs, childhood treasures and maybe even a priceless antique or two, with the proceeds from everything sold going to the Australian Wildlife Hospital.
Beerwah’s Great Garage Sale is on August 18, in the car park out the front of Australia Zoo.

LA Dodgers’ pitcher Derek Lowe bowled a different kind of ball for the recent Dodgers Dream Foundation Bowling charity Extravaganza.
For the past two years, the charity bowling tournament had been patroned by Eric Gagne, who was replaced by Lowe, bowling next to fans and entertaining the six sick kids in attendance.
Also knocking down pins at the event was Desperate Housewives‘ James Denton, actor David Arquette and Dodger team mates Nomar Garciaparra, Luis Gonzalez, James Loney, Matt Kemp, Juan Pierre, Brett Tomko, Mike Leiberthal, Joe Beimel and DJ Houlton.
Pitcher Derek Lowe was honored to host the Dodgers Dream Foundation Bowling Extravaganza charity event.

Anime Evolution 2007, held in Vancouver, will have three days of events focusing on Japanese animation and Asian pop-culture.
Events to look out for include Lady Asheligh’s Tea Party and the Fan-Fic and Fan-Art Contest.
There will also be interactive industry guest panels, demos, 24-hour video rooms, a charity auction, games, and much more.
Some of the funds raised by the event will be donated to the SFU Foodbank.
Anime Evolution 2007 hosted by Simon Fraser in Burnaby, British Columbia, is on August 17 to 19.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation® UK Glasgow Half Marathon pistol will go off at the start of September.
The marathon will start at Glasgow Green and run through some of Glasgow’s most famous attractions.
But you must be over 15 to run or skate the 10k, and over 17 to sweat out the Half Marathon.
The Glasgow Half Marathon to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation® UK is on September 2. Entry fees start at £19.50.

Robbie Williams was ecstatic after his celebrity football team, LA Vale, won their match in LA, meaning they will soon face David Beckham’s LA Galaxy team.
Robbie is frantically training to get in shape for the charity fundraiser, not wanting to be humiliated by Beckham on worldwide TV,
Robbie’s team for the charity match later this year will include chums Declan Donnelly, Jonathan Wilkes and actors Jason Statham and Vinny Jones.
Becks has asked recent welcome-party-host Tom Cruise to play on his side.
Robbie Williams and David Beckham reportedly came up with the idea to play the rival match together.

Bourne Ultimatum star Matt Damon will host the 3rd annual One X One charity gala.
The One X One gala awards ceremony, the Difference Awards, which will honor celebs Richard Gere, Petra Nemca and Sarah Ferguson, will take place in Toronto at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts where acts Shakira and Wyclef Jean will entertain award recipients and guests.

A giant condom floated overhead at a Dutch festival, as part of the (GGD) Dutch public health service’s campaign for safe sex.
The 40 meter high pink elongated hot air balloon was marked with the words Vrij Veilig, safe sex in Dutch, and is expected to reach more than 80 000 young motor-cross/concert festival goers.
The huge pink balloon took three months to make, from concept to design to construction, and about 15 minutes for Virgin Balloon Flight workers to fill and raise.
Organizers are planning to submit the giant safe sex condom to the Guinness Book of World Records as the World’s Biggest Condom.

Former Survivor contestant Stacy Kimball donated the bikini she wore on the duel to the death endurance reality TV show to auction, for charity.
The 27 year-old, sixth place contestant lasted 36 days on the Fiji Survivor series.
She put her yellow bikini up for bid on EBay to raise funds for the American Diabetes Association, and last checked it was offered $409.
Depending on the success of this auction, Stacy Kimball said in future she might auction two more Survivor outfits for charity.

Kevin Bacon’s charity Six Degrees is holding a competition with a major prize of $10 000, to raise money for charities.
You can also win Hanes Six Degrees t-shirts by choosing a charity, creating a badge to promote and raise money for them online, and having six people donate to the charity through the badge you made. Easy.
But the big money will go to the one non-celebrity charity who receives the most donations.

After Paris Hilton’s jailbird promise to do work for charity, she made her first charity appearance at the Life Rolls On Night By The Ocean Auction, last weekend.

The gala night was held to raise money for children with spinal cord injuries by the Life Rolls On organization founded by Hilton’s friend, Jesse Billauer, a pro surfer who was paralyzed.

At the event Paris Hilton bid US$17 500 on surfing lessons with Billauer and won the lot.

But Paris Hilton is yet to deliver on the promise to do work for charities like Life Rolls On. Making public appearances and spending money is hardly work for her.

Oxfam International launched their Global Ambassadors programme on Tuesday and announced Scarlett Johansson as one of their Ambassadors.
The mesmerizingly beautiful Scarlett signed up for the role after spending time in India and Sri Lanka visiting Dalit rural school girls and survivors of the tsunami.
Joining an already influential group of international philanthropists Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Colin Firth, Kristin Davis, Coldplay, Annie Lennox and Dame Helen Mirren, Scarlett Johansson is a welcome addition as an Oxfam Global Ambassador.

The Big Issue Foundation is hosting the first ever London to Paris Bike Ride this weekend.
So get those half batman-half bathing suit tight little shorts on, and join Big Issue founder John Bird, among countless others feeling the burn for charity.
The ride will start at the London Eye, run over three days and finish at the Arc de Triomphe, with a chance to watch the Tour De France on the way.

The Kanye West Foundation will be put on its first concert to benefit the Loop Dreams Teacher Training Institute, opening spring next year.
The Kanye West benefit for the Kanye West Foundation (which Loops Dreams is an initiative of) as well as holding the feature concert event will host a VIP reception and a silent auction of Kanye West memorabilia.
Kanye’s latest single ‘Stronger’, a remix of a Daft Punk track, has a must see video modeled on the movie Akira.

Academy Award® winning actress Hilary Swank is going Britney Spears, and getting the chop for charity.
Swank, a Pantene Beautiful Lengths Campaign spokesperson is donating her chopped locks to be made into a wig for a female cancer patient.
As part of the charity campaign, Swank will also be seen in public service announcements across America and Canada encouraging others to get their locks lopped for charity.
Hilary Swank’s charity chop, for the Pantene Beautiful Lengths Campaign partnering with the Women’s Cancer Research Fund, is a personal response to losing family members to cancer.

Annie Lennox has secured Madonna, as well as a number of other star singers, to sing for a cause by appearing on a new charity single.
Eurythmics singer, Annie Lennox, wrote the song ‘Sing’ to raise money for the Treatment Action Campaign and signed up 23 other female artists to appear on the record, including Pink, Fergie, Shakira, Dido, Joss Stone and Celine Dion.
The single ‘Sing’ is just one track from the album ‘Songs Of Mass Destruction’.
The ‘Sing’ for a cause album by Annie Lennox featuring Madonna for the Treatment Action Campaign is due out in October.

Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone has been made into a musical and Landing Stage Theatre Group is the only theatre group in India to have received the rights to perform the musical play.
The Indian twist on Harry Potter the musical will not only be a visual and aural wonder but it will be an extra special event for Landing Stage because the proceeds from the musical show will go to the charity, the Madhuram Narayanan Centre for Exceptional Children.
