Celebrity guests and supporters are lining up to pay homage to the founder of the first ever Oxfam shop, now dead at age 88.
Joe Mitty MBE first started charity work in the days of World War II, distributing clothes to Europe’s needy.
He opened the first Oxfam shop in 1949, and since then that shop has paved the way for hundreds of others like it all over the world.
The original shop was frequently visited by celebs including The Beatles, Harry Secombe and Sir Laurence Olivier.
Oxfam shop founder Joe Mitty was pronounced dead on Sunday night.
