Lee Kernaghan has been named Australian of the Year at the 2008 Australia of the Year Awards ceremony for Australia Day.
Motorbike world champ Casey Stoner was named Young Australian of the Year and David Bussau took out the Senior Award.
Other Aussies to be honoured as part of the Australia Day Australian of the Year Awards celebrations were Lindsay Fox, Lisa Curry-Kenny and Glenn and Jane McGrath.
