JK Rowling will publish the hand written Harry Potteresque book The Tales of Beedle the Bard, and give an expected portion of the profits to charity.
The world renowned author had previously published seven copies of the book, giving six to family and friends and selling the seventh for about $4m in a charity auction for the Children’s Voice campaign.
This time Amazon, who now own the rights, have ordered a print run of a limited 100 000 collector’s editions retailing for about $100 each.
A projected $80 000 in sales from the book will go to the same charity who ran the Children’s Voice campaign, The Children’s High Level Group.
The charity, started by Rowling and Emma Nicholson to campaign for child rights across Europe, will also publish a number of copies.
The Tales of Beedle the Bard, by JK Rowling will be out December 4.
