Beijing Paralympics Start with a Bang
Sunday, September 7th, 2008 by magenta 0 comments to this post
The Beijing Paralympics kicked off on the weekend with a more than impressive opening ceremony.
The ceremony exemplified this year’s Paralympics theme of ‘Transcendence, Equality and Integration’; one of the highlights was the performance of a young earthquake victim and leg amputee, ballet student Li Yue (pictured below).
So far the US is top of the medal tally, with GB a close second and China in third place.
The Beijing Paralympics are on until September 17.
