The Club of Madrid has awarded world respected freedom fighter Nelson Mandela with the Inaugural Democratic Leadership Award.
Mandela was given the award, decided by a unanimous vote, for recognition and promotion of ethical and courageous leadership that inspires and shapes movement for the benefit of the world.
The Club of Madrid honored Nelson Mandela at a private ceremony at the Mandela Foundation in Johannesburg.
