Michael Jackson’s famous red Beat It jacket has turned up in Australia.
A former Hollywood insider who now lives in Melbourne owns the iconic memorabilia, which she bought at a City of Hope charity auction in the early 80s for $600 US.
“These days you’d immediately put it under glass,” she explained, “(But) back then it was different with memorabilia … I just wore it around for a couple of years because I liked it.”
Famous stars offer personal or signed items for charity regularly on auction sites like Charity Folks, Charitybuzz and eBay For Charity; the Melbourne owner of Michael Jackson’s jacket has no idea what the item would be worth today (article written by Kim Edwards).
