Matt Damon Haiti Commitment

Matt Damon and Gary White, through Water.org, have made a commitment to provide clean and safe water and sanitation in Haiti.

They made the announcement at the Opening Plenary of 2009 Clinton Global Initiative Annual Meeting.

'Water.org will deliver at least $2 million to fund this commitment,' Damon said, and White brought attention to the problem saying, 'The situation in Haiti is extreme, it's the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere and nearly half of its people don't have access to clean water.'

Matt Damon and Gary White's Water.org commitment means that 50 000 people in Haiti will have access to the basic human need.
