Queensland Telethon $10 Million

Aussies have helped raise more than $10 million for victims of the Queensland floods through last night's nationwide telethon appeal.

Sports stars and performers including Hugh Jackman, Simon Baker, the Veronicas, Terri and Bindi Irwin, surfer Stephanie Gilmore, the Socceroos and Jessica Mauboy all helped with the massive effort.

The Queensland telethon appeal was so successful that there were 12 000 calls in the first minute causing the phone system initially to crash.
