Run for Recovery Tri-Country

The first annual Run for Recovery is a 5k, 10k, and 1 Mile Memorial Walk to benefit Restore Addiction Recovery and Hope United. With the support of Summit County, Restore Addiction Recovery and Hope United promote holistic addiction recovery encompassing the body, mind, and soul with the goal of restoring people back into a hopeful community. The goal of this holistic recovery project is to construct recovery and relapse prevention wellness centers on Sanitarium Road.

The day will begin with a 1 Mile Memorial Walk to honor loved ones whose lives have been lost to opiate addictions. The morning will follow with a 10k/5k race that begins in Lakemore’s Tri-County Plaza and passes the future sites of Restore Addiction Recovery and Hope United. The final mile loops past Springfield Lake where family and friends can cheer the runners on toward the finish line. After the race, Jimmy’s Backyard BBQ and Chick-fil-A will provide free breakfast for the participants. An award ceremony will follow to celebrate the top three runners in each age category.

Different colored t-shirts distinguish the participants. The 1 Mile Memorial Walkers wear a black t-shirt to remember loved ones lost to addiction. The 10k/5k runners have a choice among a black, white, or light blue shirt. The black shirt is in memoriam of lost loved ones, the white shirt recognizes those who are currently in recovery, and the light blue shirt is the addiction awareness color that general participants wear. If you are participating in the 10k/5k, please choose only one option upon registration.
