Sounds of Trumpets

It will be a historic Hispanic Heritage event where our audience will enjoy live, classical Latino music performed by the Manchester Symphony Orchestra under the direction of our renowned Spanish conductor, Mercedes Diaz-Garcia.

The concert will include the premieres of a large scale double concerto for viola and guitar performed by the Alturas Duo and written by the Panamanian composer Emiliano Pardo-Tristán, also a new orchestral piece composed by David Macbride.

A performance of Danzas Peregrinas for orchestra, charango, Andean woodwinds and guitar by the Chilean composer and director of Inti-Illimani, Horacio Salinas. Finally, there will be a presentation of traditional fiery rhythms’ and dances from the Caribbean and South America by the Arthur Murray Dance Studio.
