Many people can benefit from counseling, whether it is for mental health conditions or navigating current life circumstances. Even short-term counseling can be life-changing for many people who attend. However, counseling can be expensive, and not everyone is able to afford it. This leaves many people who are already struggling financially unable to seek help for their mental and emotional wellbeing. This can cause people to struggle even more with escaping poverty, since mental health conditions or built-up stress from life circumstances can cause difficulties with finding jobs.
To help people who are struggling with this, there are organizations working to make sure that everyone can afford the treatment they need. One of the organizations working to achieve this is Worcestershire Youth and Family Counseling Services. Their goal is to provide help to all of those who need it, and in order to reach this goal, they are holding their Shine on the Shore Luau annual fundraiser.
Worcester Youth & Family is happy to announce its first Shine on the Shore Luau annual fundraiser on June 22nd, 2023, on the docks at the beautiful Sunset Grille in West OC from 4:00 – 7:00 pm. Tickets are $35 and cover live entertainment, buffet-style dinner, and a drink ticket. Games and contests will be offered throughout the night including 50/50 boards, raffles, gold bar contest, and more! Proceeds will go to our programs including mental health counseling for those who cannot afford to pay, supplies for our free Berlin Youth Club summer camp offered to children who would not otherwise have the opportunity, group activities for students in our mentor program, and assistance with resources for our most vulnerable families. Come have fun and celebrate with our Ohana to help our community shine!
