Though many people feel that homelessness could never affect them, it is a misfortune that could fall on anyone due to unlucky circumstances. Once someone is homeless, it becomes far more difficult to escape poverty. When you’re spending each day just trying to survive, it leaves little time for working and saving money. This is a cycle that many people are trapped in. Providing access to housing can be all someone needs to break out of this cycle and find ways to support themselves again. Receiving housing can allow people to find jobs and to find renewed hope in their own success.
Families Moving Forward is an organization that is helping families affected by homelessness and helping them access housing. The Fall Harvest Dinner is part of their Chefs for Change series, which will raise money to support more families.
