2026 Civil Rights Gala Honors Democracy and Human Rights Leaders

A July 2026 gala commemorates the Greensboro sit-ins and supports civil rights education and advocacy.

Civil and human rights protect fairness, equality, and freedom for everyone. Many people have fought for these rights throughout history. The work is still important today because discrimination and injustice still exist in many communities.

International Civil Rights Center & Museum works to preserve civil rights history and educate future generations. The museum honors the people and movements that fought for equality and encourages continued action for justice. To continue this mission, they are hosting a special commemorative event.

The 2026 Gala: Standing Up for Democracy and Defending Civil and Human Rights will take place on July 18, 2026 at the Joseph F. Koury Convention Center. The evening will honor six leaders who have made major contributions to civil and human rights. This event supports education, preservation, and advocacy efforts connected to civil rights history. It also helps inspire future generations to stand up for equality and justice.

Join here to support civil rights education and help preserve the fight for equality.
