Los Angeles Christian Health Center Hosts Gala to Honor Visionaries Who Advocate and Care for the Homeless
The Los Angeles Christian Health Center will hold its annual Spirit of Healing gala on Saturday, April 23, at the historic Millennium Biltmore Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles. The event, which begins at 5:30 pm., will be an evening of music, inspiration and fundraising. Honorees include jazz and vocal musicians, Tuck & Patti; Dr. John Perkins, author, biblical scholar and activist, author of Let Justice Roll Down; and Drs. Phil and Channing Frykman, physicians and longtime volunteers and leaders for the cause of healthcare for the homeless and underserved in the greater Los Angeles area.
The Los Angeles Christian Health Center, founded in 1955, is a non-profit Federally Qualified Health Center that provides low-cost and no-cost health care services throughout Skid Row, Boyle Heights and South Los Angeles. Funds raised from the evening will help support the Centers provision of comprehensive medical, mental health, dental and optometry to thousands of people who are homeless, living in public housing or shelters.
