Mesut zil, who plays for English club Arsenal and the German national team is supporting the surgery of 23 children in Brazil, as a “thank you to the hospitality of the people of Brazil”, the day after arriving back in Berlin with the World Cup trophy, Ozil declared his intentions via his Facebook page.

Ozil mentioned on his Facebook Page, Prior to the World Cup 2014 I supported the surgery of eleven sick children. Since the victory of the #World Cup is not only due to eleven players but to our whole team, I will now raise the number to 23. This is my personal thank-you for the hospitality of the people of Brazil.

zil also promised to sponsor the surgeries of 11 Brazilian children in need as part of the BigShoe charity campaign. zil has been a part of the German National Team since 2009 and became an international sensation during the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa. German National Football Team won first prize from the last World Cup held in Brazil.
