Easton couple raises 5000 for Homes for Our Troops

It’s rare that you hear of a family giving aid to a charity that has no familial connection or personal meaning.
However, that’s just what the Mullalys did this past weekend when they hosted a fundraiser at their Easton home to benefit disabled veterans. Paul and Laurie Mullaly held a cookout fundraiser Saturday, Aug. 22 for Homes For Our Troops, a nonprofit organization that builds specially adapted homes for severely injured veterans coming home from Afghanistan and Iraq. “We’re just a local family that wanted to raise money for a great charity,” Paul Mullaly said. In addition to a washer-toss tournament, games of bocce ball, horseshoes, and Texas hold ‘em, Saturday’s amusements included a wide variety of mouthwatering food and delectable treats enjoyed wholeheartedly by all in attendance. Tickets to the cookout were priced at $50 per person and more than 100 people attended. All of the event’s expenses were paid for by the Mullalys out of their own pockets.
More than $5,000 was raised at the cookout.
