Saugatuck Establishments To Give People A Taste Of The Town 2009: Summer Wrapping

Saugatuck establishments to give people a taste of the town

Summer is wrapping up but you’ve still got a chance to get one more taste of the lakeshore.
More than 20 restaurants, wineries and breweries will fill Water Street in downtown Saugatuck from noon to 7 p.m. with food, drinks, music and children’s events Sunday for the 22nd annual Taste of Saugatuck. “The Taste of Saugatuck is a truly affordable way for a family to spend an afternoon in Saugatuck,” said Sharon Shanahan of Mermaid Bar & Grill, 360 Water St. She’s been participating in Taste of Saugatuck for more than 15 years. She and David Barton of The White House Bistro, 149 Griffith St., are co-chairpersons of the event for the second year. There is no general admission charge. Food and beverage tickets are available in 50-cent increments.
“We capped prices on all the items &mdash no more than $5,” Barton said. “We’re offering seven hours of tasting, seven hours of live, free entertainment.”
