Penryn’s Kernick ground was such a success organisers are already planning another event for next year. The game between an Arsenal celebrity eleven and legends of Cornish football attracted a large crowd to the home of Penryn FC on Sunday. The event looks set to raise around £5,000 for charity and Sue Stivey, who helped organise the event along with Yvonne Turner, Penryn FC, Falmouth United and Penryn Rotary Club, was delighted. “It was a very successful day,†said Sue. “We have had a number of e-mails from people saying how much fun it had been.â€
Praise for the event also came from the Arsenal team, who were so impressed with the organisation and facilities at Penryn that they have asked for the event to be repeated in 12 months’ time.
