Boo Gives Wolf A Southern Flair 2009: Boo Weekley

Boo gives Wolf a Southern flair

There was Boo Weekley, one of the Ryder Cup heroes from last year, with his baseball cap on backwards, face red from a sun-drenched
Monday on the golf course and leading the cheers at the 18th green at Covered Bridge Golf Club in Sellersburg, Ind. “Fuzzy, Fuzzy, Fuzzy,” Weekley yelped. “Come on y’all. Fuzzy, Fuzzy, Fuzzy.” The Milton, Fla., native and resident country boy of the PGA Tour was the life of Fuzzy Zoeller’s party and was cheering the host on a birdie putt on the final hole of the 13th annual Magnolia Health Systems Wolf Challenge. “I just like to have some fun, that’s all,” Weekley said. “I can have a good time with anybody and anywhere. I’m glad Fuzzy brought me here to play.” Zoeller missed the putt and finished last in the charity event. But with Rocco Mediate and John Daly joining Weekley and Zoeller in the featured foursome, it really wasn’t about golf. With microphones on, the four joked around from the time they stepped on the driving range until they all landed in a tent for a weekend wrap-up party.
“These guys get it, and they understand what it takes to entertain the people, and people were entertained all day long,” Zoeller said. “There were some good one-line shots out there. All in all it was not a bad day.”
