Cup Brimmeth Over With Musos 2009: Lux Interior

Cup brimmeth over with musos

The late Lux Interior, frontman of ultimate wild rock’n’roll band the Cramps.
MUSOS and broadcasters are pounding the pavements and watching old Peter Daicos videos in preparation for the return of the Community Cup celebrity football match, at Elsternwick Park on June 21. Musicians including Tim Rogers, Gus Agars, Dave Larkin and Pete Satchell from Dallas Crane, Kram, the Spazzys, Bob Evans, Something for Kate’s Clint Hyndman, yours truly and Monique “Mad Dog” Brumby will be lining up for the Rockdogs against the Megahertz (broadcasters from community radio stations 3RRR and 3PBS). Entertainment will be provided by the Cosmic Psychos, Kram, Doll Squad, Jordie Lane and the Scared Weird Little Guys. Community Cup founder Jason Evans said the day combined four of Melbourne’s great loves: the community, community radio, rock’n’roll and Australian Rules football. Rockdogs captain Tim Rogers said the match embodied the spirit of old-fashioned footy games.
“This is the only town that could put on this kind of event.”
