Danny Gans, “Las Vegas Entertainer of the Year”, comedian, impressionist and musician was remembered today at a memorial service at the Encore Theater, where
his last performances were held. Danny Gans died May 1, 2009 in his Las Vegas home from a still unknown cause. He was only 52 and left behind a wife and 3 children. Over 1,000 fans, friends and family members came to say goodbye to the beloved entertainer. It was a 90-minute service that included music, laughter, tears and reminiscing. Once again, Las Vegas has suffered a devastating loss. This brings back memories of the tragedy Roy Horn experienced several years ago and the loss the Siegfried & Roy show on The Strip. At this point, there is no talk of a regular show replacing Danny Gans at the Encore and instead smaller, short engagements will be booked for the time being. For more info:
