Church Hopes Its History Lies In Your Scrapbook 2009: Worth Words

Church hopes its history lies in your scrapbook

A picture, they say, is worth a thousand words.
Debbie Brown is hoping a picture also is worth 100 years. &x201CWe&x2019ve got a lot of material from current members,&x201D said Brown, a committee member. &x201CI&x2019ve been reading through items, and it&x2019s just fascinating to learn the history of our church. &x201CBut, you know, there are a lot of people who had parents or grandparents who went here, then they moved on. They may have old photos or announcements. We&x2019re especially hoping to get as many wedding pictures as possible for a display.&x201D Brown said that people could either bring items by the church office, mail them or scan and e-mail the images. &x201CIt&x2019s going to be a wonderful celebration,&x201D she said. &x201CWe&x2019d like to have as many people represented as possible.&x201D If you can help Brown and the church, call 865-4141.
The folks at Fayetteville Urban Ministry know their clients are facing tough times &x2014 and that the nonprofit faith-based organization may be next.
