Mount de Sales Academy students’ spring break trip to Paris included stops at the Louvre, the Cathedral of Notre Dame, the Eiffel Tower and
the Palace of Versailles. The 36 students and chaperones also traveled to the Loire Valley to visit the Chateau of Chenonceau and Chanbord Castles as well as Monet’s garden on the eight-day trip. One of their last stops was at the Daughters of Charity Convent Chapel on rue du Bac where Catholics believe Mary appeared to St. Catherine Laboure in 1930. The tour guide did not speak English well and decided to get an American nun from the Daughters of Charity to help. When the girls told the nun they were from Maryland, she said, “I’m from Maryland.” When they said, “We’re from Catonsville,” Sister Mary Jo Stein said, “I’m from Catonsville.” “We’re from Mount de Sales Academy,” they said.
“I’m from Mount de Sales, Class of 1982,” she said.
