Graham Events Draw Notables 2009: Graham Avenue

Graham events draw notables

Graham Avenue will become Earnest Graham Avenue during a ceremony at 1 p.m.
Sunday on the Fort Myers street near Jefferson Park. But first, there are plenty of activities and fun to be had with the goal of raising money for the Tampa Bay Buccaneer running back’s charity, Earnest Giving, Inc. The action will begin at 7 p.m. Friday at Dunbar High School, where current and former Bucs and other NFL players will participate in a celebrity basketball game. Tickets are available at the gymnasium. Some of the proceeds will benefit the Dunbar Booster Club. “We’ve got a huge group,” Graham said of the invited and confirmed players. Tampa Bay running back Carnell “Cadillac” Williams, fullback B.J. Askew, quarterback Luke McCown and defensive backs Sabby Piscatelli, Tanard Jackson and Elbert Mack have confirmed they will attend this weekend. So have sports agent Drew Rosenhaus, retired Bucs fullback Mike Alstott, Tennessee Titans defensive end Jevon Kearse, Detroit Lions cornerback Anthony Henry and Hall of Fame Bucs linebacker Lee Roy Selmon, among others.
“We just try to support each other,” Graham said of being able to draw so many celebrities for his event. “And these guys, they like to play basketball.”
