April 28, 2009 CEDAR CITY &mdash The 2nd Annual April Aftershock event, a charity basketball event to get the youth within the community involved,
will take place on Saturday at noon at Canyon View High School. The event will be in memory of Coach Steve Hodson &mdash a beloved coach in the community &mdash who passed away this past November after an eight-year battle with multiple cell myeloma. Before coaching for Southern Utah University, Hodson coached at Cedar High School, Canyon View High School and Dixie State College. The proceeds from this year’s event will be donated to the Cancer Center at Valley View Medical Center to help local cancer patients.
American Idol contestant Taylor Vaifanua will singing the national anthem. Local party sensation DJ Spinz will keep the party going. Prize drawings, concessions, entertainment and more will take place.
