MARJON College will be the venue for the first annual Chestnut Cup six-a-side football tournament – and teams from across the region are invited
to take part. All money raised from the event will go to the Chestnut Appeal for Prostate Cancer. David Squires, of the Chestnut Appeal, said: “We have a number of teams already signed up and a number who have expressed their interest, but if there are teams out there ready to enter then please get in touch now.” Squires added: “We will have a raffle on the day and hope that teams will bring along supporters to enjoy the day out.” There are more than 35,000 cases of prostate cancer in the UK every year, and the figure is increasing. The Chestnut Appeal raises funds to help men with prostate cancer and their families across Devon and Cornwall. The aim is to increase awareness, fund specialist nurses and fund the latest treatments not available on the NHS.
