And they would admit they play for laughs (and for charity). Mikel Jollett and Steven Chen are a bit different. They met as budding writers in Los Angeles and formed a band, Airborne Toxic Event, as an afterthought.
“We really didn’t know what was going to happen,” says Chen, whose band will perform Monday at Mr. Small’s Theatre in Millvale.
