Staff Report, Staff Report photo: Photo courtesy LanBrew What is the group LanBrew is a student organization dedicated to electronic gaming, though not limited
to it. The group organizes LAN (local area network) events to which all TU students are invited to participate in a night of gaming and support a good cause. What does the group do LanBrew supports the Child’s Play charity (www.childsplaycharity.com) by collecting donations at events. In the last three calendar years the group has raised over $3,000 to support the Child’s Play effort to purchase toys and games for children undergoing treatment in hospitals around the world. LanBrew also participates in events hosted by other organizations, including Habitat for Humanity. Last year for Shackathon, group members constructed a Super Mario castle and won “Best Overall” for the second year in a row. Last year LanBrew also won third place in the TU’s Finest competition out of all of the participating student organizations on campus.
