Get On Your Bike For Charity 2009: 130pm Sunday

Get on your bike for charity

1:30pm Sunday 22nd February 2009 CYCLISTS in Wiltshire can sign up to get on their bikes for the scenic Salisbury Plain Bikeathon.
Entries are now open for the event, which takes place on Easter Monday, which is April 13. The event will start at 10:30am from Pear Tree Hill, Erlestoke (opposite Erlestoke prison). Riders can choose from two routes – a 20-mile track through Salisbury Plain via the ‘lost village’ of Imber or a special 22-mile ride which includes a challenging section through Erlestoke Woods. This is physically demanding and only recommended for experienced adult riders. The Bikeathon is signposted and marshalled, with refreshment stops, and all riders will receive a free T-shirt and commemorative medal on completion of the route. Darren Smith, Salisbury Plain Bikeathon organiser says: “Whether you’re looking for a fitness challenge or a great day out, our Bikeathon can be fun for all the family. Last year’s event was a great success and we’re hoping to do even better this year.”
