Reports must appear the day after the meeting. RELIGIOUS Drumgoole Knights The Father John C. Drumgoole Council, Knights of Columbus, held its social meeting. Grand Knight Dan Clifford informed the members that a Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Church on March 9 at 7:30 p.m. in honor of the late Al Rudge. The upcoming events are the third round of the 2009 Knights of Columbus Free Throw Shooting contest will be held on March 1 at 9 a.m. in the CYO Center at Mount Loretto. The winners of the second round are eligible to participate. Contact Vin Bilotti for more information. The Staten Island St. Patrick’s Day Parade will be held on March 8, starting at noon. The Knights of Columbus will be participating in the parade and members who want to march should meet on Hart Boulevard at 11:30 a.m. The next “All You Can Eat Charity Breakfast,” will be March 15 in the council hall. The cost is $5 for adults, $3 for children 7 to 12 years old, and free for children under 7. Breakfast will be served from 8 a.m. to noon. Volunteers are needed to run the event. The council will hold its St. Patrick’s Day Party March 21 at 7 p.m. The next meeting is March 3. RECREATION Bridge Club Winners of the Bridge Club of Staten Island’s Wednesday afternoon game played in its Castleton Corners club were: Winners North-South: first place, John Van Workum and Joan Frederick second, Stuart Graybow and Anthnoy Merola third, Barbara Meyer and Betty Kasagrande fourth, Catherine Scannapieco and Anne Giampapa. East-west, first place, Beverly and Bruce Gilman second, Dorothy Lennon and Laurie Bates third, Sandy Muccillo and Judy Hunter, fourth, Mary Logan and Jeanette Merola. MEDICAL Myasthenia Gravis The Doris Castle Myasthenia Gravis Support Group met last night at SIUH, Prince’s Bay. The coordinator, Helen Ligouri, welcomed members and gave out literature on managing and coping with the disease, new medicines and treatments.
