The Riverside Foundation’s annual benefit gala “An Affair to Remember” will take place at 6:30 p.m.
Feb. 21 at the Lincolnshire Marriott Resort, Ten Marriott Dr. in Lincolnshire. The event will feature dinner, dancing to a live orchestra, and raffle. Ox-Bow School of Art and Artists’ Residency will hold its annual winter benefit art auction from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. Feb. 19 at SAIC Sullivan Galleries, 33 S. State St., Seventh Floor in Chicago. The benefit will feature over 100 works of art, donated by Ox-Bow’s friends, former students, faculty and artists in residence. There will also be an open bar, full buffet and a silent and live auction. All funds raised at the event will be used to support scholarships and programming. Tickets are $100 at the door. The Organic School Project, an organization attempting to fight childhood obesity, will hold its “Smackdown” event from 7 to 10 p.m. Feb. 19 at Goose Island Brewery, 3535 N. Clark Ave. in Chicago. Ten professional chefs and 15 culinary amateurs, chosen by submission, will battle to see who makes the best mac-and-cheese. The evening will include cocktails, appetizers, desserts, eclectic entertainment, live music and a silent auction. Tickets are $75 in advance or $100 at the door.
