The June Jones Foundation, the charity organization based in Honolulu, took footballa little further afield on the weekend, with a remarkableevent in American Samoa.
Nearly a 1000 particpants, all high school junior varsity and varsity football players and their coaches in The South Pacific islands territory, enjoyed a free two-day clinic provided by the foundation and led by coach June Jones. This is the second year the American Samoa Football Academy & Medical Mission has been held, and the sports, education and healthcare program includes donations of medical supplies, football equipment and uniforms, and five scholarships to US colleges.
The June Jules Foundationcharity clinic was even bigger than last year, and Togiola Tulafono the Governor of American Samoa expressed his thanks, saying, “We are deeply honored for this special blessing through the game of football.
