Singling himself out from the Hollywood crowd, writer-actor-director Tyler Perry was helping financial crisis affected Americans through a charity started by civil rights activist Hosea Williams.
Perry spent Tuesday morning at Hosea Feed the Hungry and Homeless unloading and packaging food he donated to feed more than 1000 families.
The BET Award winner grew up below the poverty line, the poor son of a New Orleans carpenter, and was homeless before hitting the big time in Hollywood.
‘I’ve been out on the street, I know what it’s about…I couldn’t imagine doing that with children looking at me for food,’ Tyler Perry said about his Hosea Feed the Hungry and Homeless charity endeavor.
