Vodafone McLaren Mercedes racing driver Lewis Hamilton has sold his go-kart in a charity auction on eBay.
Bidding closed at 42,100 on June 19, for F1 driver Hamilton’s Vodafone McLaren Mercedes go-kart.
McLaren sponsors had arranged the more than successful auction of the kart to raise money for the baby charity Tommy’s.
Tommy’s, the recipient of the massive donation, is a very special organization. It exists to save babies’ lives through researching and providing information about the causes and prevention of miscarriage, premature birth and stillbirth. Their aim is to halve the number of babies who die during pregnancy or birth, by 2030.
Before the auction Hamilton was excited about the prospect commenting
It’s brand new, with only one careful owner, and this kart was customized for me by Vodafone McLaren Mercedes. It’s pretty fast just how I like it! For anyone who aspires to be a Formula 1 driver one day this is for you! Not only will you win this go-kart, but you’ll get a chance to meet me…
The successful Tommy’s charity auction bidder will have the go-kart presented to him in person by Lewis Hamilton at the launch of Vodafone Mobile Internet on June 21 in London.
