Booksgiving: Give the Gift of Reading

Open up a world of opportunities for underprivileged children one book at a time.

Do you remember what your favorite book was when you were a kid? Was it The Cat in The Hat by Dr. Seuss, or was it The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett? Perhaps it was Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl. Or maybe even Winnie-the-Pooh by A. A. Milne, or Charlotte’s Web by E. B. White! Do you remember how you felt after reading that book? Was it joy, wonder, and curiosity? Now as an adult, don’t you wish you could share that wonderful feeling with children? On November 16, you get that chance as Bernie’s Book Bank will be having Booksgiving. Happening at Bernie’s Book Bank, Illinois, help sort and pack children’s books for children from under-resourced communities. There will be food, music, and various activities to keep everyone’s spirits up all throughout the day.

Booksgiving

This holiday season, please join us on Saturday, November 16th, 2024 to help sort, sticker, and pack children’s books. We’ll celebrate Booksgiving with food, music, and activities for the whole family in addition to a meaningful volunteer shift. With your help, we can empower local children to explore new ideas, gain knowledge, and strengthen reading skills with books of their own.

Exclusive access to Booksgiving begins at the ‘Reader’ Level for $1,000. Choose the volunteer shift that works best for you: 9:30am – 11am or 1pm – 2:30pm.

Dr. Seuss once said, “The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more you learn, the more places you’ll go.” Give the gift of knowledge and open up a world of opportunities for underprivileged kids this November. Register to the Booksgiving here now.
