Sam’s Chowder House in Half Moon Bay is holding a New England-style Lobster Clambake and Wine Tasting on Thursday to raise funds for the
annual Coastside Fourth of July fireworks exhibition. Tickets are $85 per person, which includes whole Maine lobsters, steamed clams, fresh corn on the cob, potatoes and andouille sausage wine and beer music and a live auction. Model train workshop in San Carlos Those ages 11 to 17 have an opportunity to participate in a model-train workshop at the Community United Church of Christ, 1336 Arroyo Ave., San Carlos. Two workshops are scheduled from 9 to 11:45 a.m. for the weeks of July 20-24 and Aug. 3-7. In the workshops, participants will be invited to use their imaginations and learn new skills by designing a model train “mini environment.” Learn to make mountains, lakes, waterfalls, buildings, towns, roads and more. Once it is finished, the layout and a train will be donated to a nonprofit group so that it can bring joy to others. All workshop fees and donations are used to buy supplies for the train project.
