Come and watch the mighty Canterbury Crusaders go into battle against a sporting celebrity team in a 40
over cricket match. This is an iconic Canterbury event having run for over 23 years.
Entry is free and all proceeds go to the Cystic Fibrosis Assn. of New Zealand. Big name players will be attending including Leon McDonald, Robbie Deans and Todd Blackadder. Many more of your favorites will be announced as soon regional and national rugby team selections have been made. There will be two signing sessions so bring your favorite Crusaders shirt or merchandise to be signed by one of rugbys greats.
The public can also cash in with over $4000 in prizes up for grabs including the “Dilmah Tea Catch a 6 ” for an instant 100 dollars to the catcher and 100 to CFNZ. Get in some kicking practise before you come because for just one dollar you can enter the “Kick for Coke” competition. Instant Coke prizes for making it over the goal posts and a chance to win holidays, movie tickets etc. By buying a programme you are automatically into the draw to win one of many fabulous prizes donated by generous local businesses.
There are plenty of stalls with a large variety of food, speciality coffees, beer, wine and fun events. At 1.30pm there will be an auction of goods from some of sports greatest heros. One off signed paintings, shirts, bats etc, so bring your wallet for your chance to own a piece of sport memorbillia.
So grab your picinic baskets and sunscreen and head down tho the South Hagley Oval for a fabulous day of fun while helping raise money to help the young people and their families who suffer from Cystic Fibrosis in New Zealand.
