Charity Dinner Tickets Sell Out 2009: Evening Being

Charity dinner tickets sell out

The evening is being planned as a celebration of the life of Addicks supporter and talented actor Knox, who was murdered in Sidcup in
May 2008. Guests will gather in SE7 to help to raise money to tackle the problem of knives and guns, with the tragic death of Rob helping to prompt Charlton to start their pioneering Street Violence Ruins Lives campaign little over a year ago. Charlton’s work to combat street violence saw the launch of an education campaign in schools across Greenwich, Bexley and Kent that helped the club win the prestigious 2009 Football League Community Club of the Year award. The charity dinner takes place at The Valley on Thursday, October 15th (7pm), and will feature an auction and headline speakers.
Rob’s father Colin, who sits on the steering committee of the Addicks’ Street Violence Ruins Lives campaign, said: “The memorial night is going to be a very special event, and will also be important to raise funds to allow the campaign to do more work to tackle this social problem on our streets.”
