8:00am Friday 21st August 2009 A CHARITY night in support of injured Barry Island soldier Dale Leach will be held at the Market Street
Club tomorrow, Friday, August 21. Proceeds from the event will be divided equally between the 23-year-old, who is currently making progress in a UK hospital, the Welsh Guards and Help For Heroes. The DMR (Drummer) in the 1st Battalion Welsh Guards was wounded while serving in Afghanistan in June. Club committee member, Andrew Eccleshare said: “The members of the Market Street Club are extremely proud of all our troops in the British Forces, especially those who have served and are currently serving in areas of conflict throughout the world. “We are pleased to be able to show our support for them by holding this special fund raising evening and want them to know they are very much in our thoughts.”
Vale-based vocal entertainer Donna Marie will showcase some tunes, the in-house disco PA Sounds will provide the music and a variety of fundraising activities such as raffle, bingo and quiz will take place during the evening.
