Chattanooga Market Hosts A Mothers Day Toast 2009: Chattanooga Market

Chattanooga Market hosts a Mothers Day Toast

Chattanooga Market will be a one-stop shop to make Mother’s Day special.
If you haven’t purchased a gift, let Mom pick out her own from one of the many vendors. Their wares range from jewelry to pottery to wood furnishings to art. Some vendors will offer special Mother’s Day gifts, said Melissa Siragusa, marketing director at Chattanooga Market. You can take Mom out to eat at one of at least 10 food vendors on-site, and she can enjoy live entertainment by Jeni Varnadeau at 12:30 p.m. and the Stratoblasters at 2 p.m. “The Stratoblasters are all KZ-106 employees,†Siragusa said. “The reason they’re playing at the market on Mother’s Day is to raise money for Pennies for Vicki.†The nonprofit organization was founded in memory of Vicki Connor, a station employee who died of breast cancer in January 2001. Money raised by sales of a wine and cheese plate, priced at $5, will go the fund, which supports women with breast cancer locally and nationally. Kelly McCoy, director of promotions for Citadel, owner of WSKZ-FM, said Pennies for Vicki is the station’s charity of choice.
“We think of Vicki often,†she said. “This event is just another wonderful chance to get together with Vicki’s family and friends, which keeps her memory alive.â€
