LAUGHTER FOR A CAUSE
Comedy for Cures fourth event continues in its fight against lung cancer
LOS ANGELES – On Sunday, February 9, at 8:00 p.m. international comedian Ian Salmon will host Cinderella Cares Comedy for Cure at The Comedy Store in Los Angeles.
The event will include a full night of comedy and music. The show will star Royale Watkins, Jimmy Shubert, Ian Edwards, Rosie Tran, Sarah Newell, and Keith Reza. These international and up-and-coming comedians have been on Conan, Tonight Show, MTV, and Comedy Central. Singer and songwriter Jeff Phillips will perform live.
Proceeds for the event will go to USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center Keck Hospital of USC, which will help pay for free low dose CT scans for those who cannot afford them. Its about prevention, says Ian Salmon, vice president of Cinderella Cares. Early diagnosis is essential to saving those inflicted with lung cancer. Research and studies have shown that these CT scans are a must.
The Comedy Stores Comedy for Cure is the first west coast event, and Cinderella Cares third fundraiser for raising funds in the help to fight lung cancer. The charitable organization is the continuing legacy of Cinderella Salmon, a nursing assistant and mother to Ian Salmon, Eglon Daley, and Sonia Salmon-Gayle. Its mission is to provide financial support for organizations that best serve lung cancer patients and to empower those inflicted with lung cancer by promoting early diagnosis and supporting research.
