Franklin’s most beloved holiday tradition returns for its 40th year on December 13–14, 2025, transforming the historic downtown streets into the world of Charles Dickens. With Victorian-era costumes, lively performances, and your favorite Dickens characters strolling through town, it’s as if you’ve stepped straight into A Christmas Carol.

From the mischievous Fagin to Scrooge and the Cratchit family, and even Father and Mother Christmas with special treats for children, the festival offers something magical for all ages. Music, dancing, and festive cheer make this two-day celebration a perfect way to experience the spirit of the season.

Produced by the Heritage Foundation of Williamson County, this event not only entertains but also supports the foundation’s mission of preserving and sharing the historic places, stories, and culture of the community.

40th Annual Dickens of a Christmas | 2025

December 13 @ 10:00 am – December 14 @ 5:00 pm

Welcoming a record 150,000 visitors in 2024, Dickens of a Christmas recreates the time of Charles Dickens using historic downtown Franklin’s charming architecture as the backdrop. A variety of musicians, dancers and Dickens characters will fill the streets. Expect to see and interact with the nefarious Fagin from Oliver Twist; Jacob Marley, Ebenezer Scrooge, Tiny Tim and the rest of the Cratchit family from A Christmas Carol; and of course, a Victorian Father and Mother Christmas with treats for children. The festival is produced by the Heritage Foundation of Williamson County.
