Former LARCS community director is now event planner

LADERA RANCH &ndash Sue Shaver, the former community director for Ladera Ranch Community Services who left that position in January, is now the director
of operations for Event Complete, the event planning firm headed by Taste of Ladera founder Michelle Patterson. Shaver, a Laguna Niguel resident who worked for Merit Property Management, which manages LARCS, for more than three years, began working as an event planner for Event Complete in May. It’s going great, Shaver said. “I love the variety of the stuff that we’re getting involved in.” The company is currently planning a series of fundraisers for Orange County Supervisor Pat Bates, a “Giant Orange Festival” charity event in Irvine and a charity car rally for muscle car enthusiasts.
Ladera resident Michelle Patterson also runs an outsourcing firm, TouchPointe, which helps businesses manage back office operations like accounting . She said she has devoted greater attention to her event planning company as businesses scale back in a recession.
